```
AUDIT.INFO
```

- Group: Audit
- Complexity: O(1)
- HotKV Cloud: Scale plan
- On-Premise: requires the audit-log license feature

`AUDIT.INFO` summarizes this node's audit log, the tamper-evident record of
the commands clients ran (see [Security: Audit log](https://docs.hotkv.com/security/index.md#audit-log)
for how to turn it on and what each entry holds). Each node of a cluster
keeps its own log.

`chain_valid` tells you whether the log is intact. It reflects the most
recent check, and is `1` if the log was never checked; run
[AUDIT.VERIFY](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/audit-verify/index.md) for a fresh answer.

## Return value

A flat array of field and value pairs, in RESP2 and RESP3:

| Field | Type | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `total_entries` | Integer | Entries written to the log |
| `file_size_bytes` | Integer | Size of the current log file |
| `chain_valid` | Integer | `1` when the log is intact, `0` when an entry was altered, removed or inserted |
| `last_sequence` | Integer | Sequence number of the latest entry |

With the audit log turned off, every count is `0` and `chain_valid` is `1`.
Without a license that includes `audit-log`, the reply is
`NOLICENSE audit-log requires a HotKV license. Contact sales@hotkv.com`.
