# CLIENT INFO

> Describe the current connection in one line of fields.

URL: https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/client-info/

```
CLIENT INFO
```

- Group: Connection
- Complexity: O(1)
- HotKV Cloud: all plans
- On-Premise: no license needed

`CLIENT INFO` returns one line describing the current connection, in the same
`field=value` format that [CLIENT LIST](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/client-list/index.md) uses for every
connection. The fields are explained on that page, among them `tot-mem`, the
memory `maxmemory-clients` counts for the connection, and `flags` and `redir`,
which show [client-side caching](https://docs.hotkv.com/develop/client-side-caching/index.md).

## Return value

The line, ending with a newline: a bulk string in RESP2, a verbatim string
(`txt`) in RESP3.

## Examples

```
127.0.0.1:6379> CLIENT SETNAME reporting
OK
127.0.0.1:6379> CLIENT INFO
id=93 addr=127.0.0.1:33610 laddr=127.0.0.1:6379 fd=39 name=reporting age=2 idle=0 flags=N db=0 sub=0 psub=0 ssub=0 multi=-1 watch=0 qbuf=0 qbuf-free=256 argv-mem=0 multi-mem=0 rbs=0 rbp=0 obl=0 oll=0 omem=0 tot-mem=1208 events=r cmd=client|info user=default redir=-1 resp=2 lib-name= lib-ver=
```

## Compatibility

Same format as Redis 7, with the field differences listed on
[CLIENT LIST](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/client-list/index.md).
