# CLUSTER SLAVES

> Older name of CLUSTER REPLICAS, which lists the replicas of a primary node.

URL: https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/cluster-slaves/

```
CLUSTER SLAVES node-id
```

- Group: Cluster
- Complexity: O(N) where N is the number of known nodes
- HotKV Cloud: not available
- On-Premise: no license needed
- Deprecated: use CLUSTER REPLICAS instead

`CLUSTER SLAVES` is the older name of
[CLUSTER REPLICAS](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/cluster-replicas/index.md). It takes the same argument
and gives the same reply: the replicas of the given primary, one
[CLUSTER NODES](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/cluster-nodes/index.md) line each. Use `CLUSTER REPLICAS`
in new code.

## Return value

| Case | RESP2 | RESP3 |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A primary | Array of bulk strings, one line per replica (empty when it has none) | Array |
| Unknown node ID | Error `ERR Unknown node <node-id>` | Same error |
| The node is a replica | Error `ERR The specified node is not a master` | Same error |

## Examples

```
127.0.0.1:6379> CLUSTER SLAVES db0203ba69a674ed0b0cde72c4dfcecc846ed307
1) "087d5d8db5c8df0f3152afcd17b94d5879f9107f 10.0.0.6:6379@16379 slave db0203ba69a674ed0b0cde72c4dfcecc846ed307 0 1790850430518 3 connected"
```

## Compatibility

Same as Redis 7 and Valkey 8, where it is also kept for older clients.
