```
CONFIG subcommand [argument ...]
```

- Group: Server
- HotKV Cloud: all plans
- On-Premise: no license needed

`CONFIG` is a container command for the server's runtime configuration.
`CONFIG HELP` lists the subcommands.

## Subcommands

| Subcommand | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| [CONFIG GET](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/config-get/index.md) | Read settings by name or glob pattern. |
| [CONFIG SET](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/config-set/index.md) | Change one or more settings without a restart. |
| [CONFIG REWRITE](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/config-rewrite/index.md) | Write the current settings back to the config file. |
| [CONFIG RESETSTAT](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/config-resetstat/index.md) | Reset the counters [INFO](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/info/index.md) reports. |

An unknown subcommand gets `ERR unknown subcommand '<name>'. Try CONFIG HELP.`

Every setting, its default and whether it can change at runtime are listed
in the [configuration reference](https://docs.hotkv.com/reference/configuration/index.md).

In HotKV Cloud, the CLI tab of the panel does not run `CONFIG`. Change the
settings the panel offers in the instance's Configuration tab, or run
`CONFIG` from your own client connection.

## Compatibility

Same subcommands as Redis 7 and Valkey 8. Differences in what each one does
are on the subcommand pages.
