# EMBED.DEDUP.STATS

> Report hits, misses and entries for an embedding de-duplication namespace.

Embedding de-duplication stores each embedding once per content hash and counts references to it, so the same content embedded by many users or documents is stored, and paid for, only once. You compute the content hash and the embedding; HotKV keeps them in named namespaces. `EMBED.DEDUP.STATS` reports counters for one namespace. For a
namespace that does not exist, every counter is zero.

## Return value

The reply is a flat array of alternating field names and values in both RESP2 and RESP3 (it is not sent as a RESP3 map). The fields, in order:

| Field | Type | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `hits` | Integer | [EMBED.DEDUP.GET](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/embed-dedup-get/index.md) calls that found an embedding. |
| `misses` | Integer | `GET` calls that found nothing. |
| `entries` | Integer | Embeddings currently stored. |

Errors:

- `ERR wrong number of arguments for 'embed.dedup.stats' command` if the argument count is wrong.
- `NOLICENSE embed-dedup requires a HotKV license. Contact sales@hotkv.com` if your license does not include the `embed-dedup` feature.

## Compatibility

HotKV-only command. Redis and Valkey have no equivalent.
