# FEATURE.CREATE

> Create a feature group with a description and a typed schema.

The feature store keeps typed feature values for entities (users, items, sessions) in named feature groups, for low-latency reads at model inference time. `FEATURE.CREATE` creates a group whose entities all have the
features listed after `SCHEMA`, each with a type. `description` is free
text for your own reference.

## Options

| Type | Values |
| --- | --- |
| `int64` | 64-bit signed integers. Default `0`. |
| `double` (or `float`) | Floating-point numbers. Default `0`. |
| `string` | Any string. Default empty. |

Type names must be written in all lower case or all upper case. A new entity
starts with every feature at its default.

## Return value

| Case | RESP2 | RESP3 |

| Group created | Simple string `OK` | Same |

Errors:

- `ERR expected SCHEMA keyword` if the fourth argument is not `SCHEMA`.
- `ERR unknown type: <type>` for a type name HotKV does not know.
- `ERR group already exists or limit reached` if the group exists, or the server already holds its maximum number of groups (`max_groups` under `[featurestore]`).
- `ERR wrong number of arguments for 'feature.create' command` if the argument count is wrong.
- `NOLICENSE feature-store requires a HotKV license. Contact sales@hotkv.com` if your license does not include the `feature-store` feature.

## Compatibility

HotKV-only command. Redis and Valkey have no equivalent.
