# HIMPORT PREPARE

> Give a name to a list of field names on this connection, for HIMPORT SET to use.

`HIMPORT PREPARE` stores the list of `field` names under `name` on the current
connection. [HIMPORT SET](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/himport-set/index.md) then makes hashes from values
alone. Preparing a name again replaces the list. Nothing is written to the
dataset, so a replica's connection can use it.

## Return value

Simple string `OK` in RESP2 and RESP3. With no field,
`ERR wrong number of arguments for 'himport|prepare' command`.

## Examples

127.0.0.1:6379> HIMPORT PREPARE person name age city
OK
127.0.0.1:6379> HIMPORT PREPARE
(error) ERR wrong number of arguments for 'himport|prepare' command
```

## Compatibility
