# HIMPORT

> Load many hashes that share the same field names, by naming the fields once and then giving only the values.

```
HIMPORT subcommand [argument ...]
```

- Group: Hash
- HotKV Cloud: all plans

`HIMPORT` is a container for the commands that load many hashes of one shape,
like the rows of a table, while sending less. A connection first stores a list
of field names under a name of your choice with `HIMPORT PREPARE`. Each
`HIMPORT SET key name value ...` then creates one hash from the values alone,
matched to the stored names in order. A load of a million hashes with ten fields
sends the ten names once instead of a million times.

## Subcommands

| Subcommand | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| [HIMPORT PREPARE](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/himport-prepare/index.md) | Give a name to a list of field names, for this connection. |
| [HIMPORT SET](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/himport-set/index.md) | Make a hash from the values for a prepared list of fields. |
| [HIMPORT DISCARD](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/himport-discard/index.md) | Forget one prepared list. |
| [HIMPORT DISCARDALL](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/himport-discardall/index.md) | Forget every prepared list of this connection. |

An unknown subcommand replies `ERR unknown subcommand 'name'. Try HIMPORT HELP.`
The prepared lists belong to the connection: `RESET` or closing it drops them.
The hashes are ordinary hashes.

## Compatibility

A Redis 8.10 command.
