# LATENCY RESET

> Forget the recorded latency spikes of some or all events.

URL: https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/latency-reset/

```
LATENCY RESET [event [event ...]]
```

- Group: Server
- Complexity: O(N) where N is the number of events
- HotKV Cloud: all plans
- On-Premise: no license needed

`LATENCY RESET` clears the latency monitor's data. Without arguments it
clears every event. With event names (case-insensitive) it clears only
those. It does not change `latency-monitor-threshold`, and it does not touch
the per-command data of [LATENCY HISTOGRAM](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/latency-histogram/index.md)
(use [CONFIG RESETSTAT](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/config-resetstat/index.md) for that).

## Return value

An integer: the number of events cleared, in RESP2 and RESP3.

## Examples

```
127.0.0.1:6379> LATENCY RESET command
(integer) 1
127.0.0.1:6379> LATENCY RESET
(integer) 1
```

## Compatibility

Same as Redis 7 and Valkey 8.
