# MODULE LOADEX

> Load a module with configuration; not supported in HotKV, the command always replies with an error.

MODULE LOADEX path [CONFIG name value [CONFIG name value ...]] [ARGS argument [argument ...]]

`MODULE LOADEX` exists for compatibility only. HotKV does not load modules,
so the command always fails, whatever the arguments.

## Return value

Always this error, in RESP2 and RESP3:

```
ERR Module loading is not supported in this build. HotKV provides built-in support for all common data structures.
```

Without a path: `ERR wrong number of arguments for 'module|loadex' command`.

## Examples

```
127.0.0.1:6379> MODULE LOADEX /usr/lib/redis/modules/mymodule.so CONFIG mymodule.size 10
(error) ERR Module loading is not supported in this build. HotKV provides built-in support for all common data structures.
```

## Compatibility

Redis 7 and Valkey 8 load the module. HotKV never does.
