# SCACHE.FLUSH

> Remove every entry from a semantic cache namespace but keep the namespace and its settings.

URL: https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/scache-flush/

```
SCACHE.FLUSH namespace
```

- Group: Semantic cache
- Complexity: O(N) where N is the number of entries
- HotKV Cloud: Performance and Scale plans
- On-Premise: requires the semantic-cache license feature

The semantic cache returns a cached LLM response when a new query embedding is similar enough to one you stored, so paraphrased requests can hit. Your application computes the embeddings. `SCACHE.FLUSH` removes all entries and resets the namespace's
hit and miss counters. Its dimensions, metric and threshold stay as they were. To remove
the namespace itself, use [SCACHE.DROP](https://docs.hotkv.com/commands/scache-drop/index.md).

## Return value

| Case | RESP2 | RESP3 |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Namespace flushed | Integer `1` | Same |
| No such namespace | Integer `0` | Same |

Errors:

- `ERR wrong number of arguments for 'scache.flush' command` if the argument count is wrong.
- `NOLICENSE semantic-cache requires a HotKV license. Contact sales@hotkv.com` if your license does not include the `semantic-cache` feature.
