Agent memory gives AI agents four kinds of memory. Conversation memory keeps the recent turns of a chat session as a bounded sliding window: when a session holds its maximum number of turns, appending a new turn drops the oldest. AMEM.CONV.APPEND adds a turn to the end of a session. role is one of system, user, assistant or tool. HotKV records the time of the turn.

Errors:

  • ERR session not found if the session does not exist or has expired (create it with AMEM.CONV.CREATE).
  • ERR invalid role, expected system, user, assistant or tool for any other role. Nothing is appended.
  • ERR wrong number of arguments for 'amem.conv.append' command if the argument count is wrong.
  • NOLICENSE agent-memory requires a HotKV license. Contact sales@hotkv.com if your license does not include the agent-memory feature.
